Bodegas Borsao Seleccion 2008, DO Campo de Borja, Aragon Spain $10USD

This wine is 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah, 10% Tempranillo.  It has a deep ruby color with a purple hue, young and vibrant.  The nose is full of black and red cherries, plums, blackberries and raspberry with white pepper notes.  The palate is round and firm with very ripe but not cooked summer fruits followed by a bit of white pepper.  This wine is a great example of what you can expect for around $7USD from Spain these days.  The new Spanish style is balanced, fresh and fruity without beating you over the head with oak.  Will serve nicely with grilled meats, pasta, roast chicken.
